Opponents of the global warming orthodoxy argue, however, that short-term temperature data are inadequate to predict long-term trends and point out that the scientific community remains divided about whether significant warming will occur or what impact it will have.

只是我不太清楚divide是接on/over?
A選項接if it does 行嗎?

over whether significant warming will occur and what impact it would have

我覺得if it does是廢話!

(A) 1. 不需要倒裝(疑問句才倒裝), 2. if it does 多餘
(B) 1. that occurs 多餘, 2. whether warming will be significant
(C) 1. or 句意不對 (混淆 whether... or not ?), 2. if it did 多餘 (看出答案要假設語氣了嗎?)
(D) 1. there 不簡潔, 2. or 句意不對
