可以用一個字表達就不需要用兩個字

我怎麼看都覺得A選項沒錯哩，還是我有什麼遺漏的地方呢?

(A)選項錯的原因是, 當the加上部落名稱時其動詞必為複數, 因此不可能是was, 因此由此可知(A)及(B)的選項可以刪掉了
而(E)則是因為過去完成式最好不要單獨存在, 如要存在應有過去式跟著一起存在
而(D)則是改經用the only即是單數,怎還會用ones這個名詞呢
因此答案只能選(C), 而alone則為形容詞形容前面的the Oneida, 主要動詞則是sided with...

five-nation 應該比 five nation 清楚吧! (five-nation league = five nation league, 都是單數,前者表達比較清楚,簡潔)
從 (D) 露了餡,是 five nations, 不是 five nation 作形容詞 (不簡潔). (C) 要對,不會吧?
比較傾向選 (A), 如果要挑剔,可能是不夠簡潔,但是句意還頗清楚.
指點一下迷津吧!看不出 (A) 錯哪裡, (C) 又不對; 要接受 (C) 很難也.
