選不到答案! 什麼是 "more so than..."?
(A) 1. 應該是 more than {women who did not} when retiring; 2. when retiring completely 的句意不合理(當完全退休時?)
(B) were to 與事實相反的假設,句意拉很遠了.
(C) so 作什麼?
(D) (E) 不簡潔; which (= satisfaction) 用法錯誤

我也錯了這題, 跑去問了身邊的牛人, 就不經他的同意就貼出來啦(他是個超級低調的牛人押), 因為我猜會有人跟我ㄧ樣想不通

(A) 同一組Woman took new jobs 而且還 retiring completely, 這種事情不會發生,太奇怪了=>錯
(B) they = "the women", 又是同一組women自己和自己比=>錯
(C) so = reported high marital satisfaction
這樣就看懂啦=>more (reported high marital satisfaction) than those who retired completely
"比起完全退修的女人,更多退休後並找到第二個工作的女人表示他們擁有高的婚姻滿意度"
(D) which = marital satisfaction, those = women
則 marital satisfaction 和 women 比, 不能這樣比=>錯
(E) 犯了A和D的錯

最後, 我自己覺得B和E出現了詭異的假設語氣, 而且只講if 那一半(if S+ were to/ had Vpp), 卻少了剩下那一半(S+ would....)
就算因為簡潔要省略動詞和受詞, 助動詞would應該要留下來, 因為顯然和前面過去式不同

如果沒有那個so, 我猜完整的句子可能如下,
women who took new jobs after retiring from their primary careers reported high marital satisfaction, more than those who retired completely (reported high marital satisfaction).

我這樣的猜測是對的嗎???
想請問如果答案C沒那個so那還是正確答案嗎??
more than前面為何要加逗點呢??

這樣就不曉得是比什麼了,因為 more than 前面找不到形容詞,只是把事情重述,加 more than 沒有特別的意義. more than 是形容詞比較,這一句不是比較形容詞,而是一件事,所以要用 so.
more than 加逗點,因為要修飾的主詞是 women (修飾前一句), 不是 satisfaction.
