Ans: E

做題時覺得 (D) (E) 改變句意: when... 換成 any... ,看來一開始就判斷錯誤,選了 (C). 該如何是好呢?

我是先刪
1.沒有or by的 , A.B先刪除
2. 應該是is accompanined either by A or B, 而不是is either accompanined by A or B

我記得很久前上莫老的客有說到不要隨便改變句意..
但是這種解釋在OG中似乎很少看到(還是有 不過很少)

這題頗挑剔代名詞.

(A) it = temperature 不確定這句意.瞥一下後面的選項,原來應該是 increase (in temperature). 這樣 (A) (B) 可以放一邊去了.
it is either accompanied by an increase in pressure if the gas is enclosed in a container, or (it is accompanied by) an increase...
好像有沒有 by 不是頂挑剔.

(D) 有個 it (句意上應該 = gas), 但是看看非劃線部份: the gas 都寫出來了,那個 it 肯定有問題

剩下 (C) (E) 該有的都有,這樣希望莫伯伯的那 70% 幸運降臨:比較長短 => (E)

所以 (C) 不簡潔?

看來 ETS 真不喜歡被動.

用 either... or... 平衡法試試看:
(A) either accompanied by... or... --- 省略 accompanied by, 平衡
(B) accompanied either by... or... --- 沒有 by, 不平衡
(C) either accompanied by... or by... --- accompanied by 省一半,不選
(D) either accompanied by... or by... --- accompanied by 省一半,不選
(E) accompanied either by... or by... --- 平衡
有效地刪除了 (C)!
=> (A) (E) 選一個
可見 ETS 蠻賊,這樣還不放過 (A), 如果以改變句意刪除 (A) 就中計了!

小妹我不太同意這裡說的『省略 accompanied by, 平衡』
因為句意是指藉由...的方法手段達到目的
by後面接的受詞一定是不一樣的物品（名詞）或事件（名詞子句）
所以by一點都不能省

再來講到平衡
either V by.... or V by....才是真正的平衡
如果 accompanied 要省略
原句應該要寫成 V either by ... or by ....
根本不要放到中間擾論視聽

不管題目要怎麼擺只要確定 either...... or..... 這兩個後面擺的完全得一模一樣~不能省的~ 只有E平衡 :))

嗯... 我也選了(C)，如果改成increases就漂亮了；

個人還是喜歡選帶有副詞子句的選項，它在句意的表達上可是一舉數得；
可能本題是在說個物理現象，恆為事實，所以不需要when吧...(猜測)

這題不難選出，主要根據 either A or B，但那從頭到尾的 increase 看得真是有點礙眼～真想幫它換字...
