連 doing damage 都來了! (不按牌理出牌?)
一直覺得 as well as 不好, doing +N 不好, 所以做這題的時候其實看不懂要選什麼.

詳細看以後應該是D沒有錯
用平衡來看 原本很想選A
但是A的結構是N (hundreds of deaths),N(injury to thousands),and狀態 (seriously damaging) 所以感覺沒那麼平衡
而D的結構 causing hundreds of death and thousands of injuries, as well as doing serious damage to.... 好像看起來更為平衡
不過考試的時候不知道能不能分析的這麼快

是的. (D) 是唯一平衡的選項.
and 平衡兩個名詞 deaths 和 thousands of injuries
as well as 平衡兩個動名詞 causing 和 doing

剛看了 一篇專訪大陸牛人管衛東的報導,他認為 GMAT 是考出受過高等教育的(美國)人應該寫出的句子.

as well as 不是正式的對等連接詞. A as well as B: A 的重要性遠大於 B (i.e. B 從句子裡去掉對重點句意沒有影響)

doing damage 像是口語. (直接用 damaging 會比較正式)

所以看到這樣的答案讓我很驚訝.不過 GMAT 是選相對最好的選項,這題就只能選 (D) 囉!
