大英百科裡, 英國人覺得 Olympic Games 是複數.
e.g.

在 US Olympic Training Center 裡根本沒有所謂的 Sports Medicine Programs, 看起來是作者自己編出來的.
應該是 Sports Medicine programs, 這樣當然是複數.

(D) 的錯不在 their 指代 athletes', 在於不平衡.

就文法上來看,and平衡兩個所有格的名詞短語 1. athletes' performance ; 2.their preparation 應該沒錯

照這樣看起來,gear應該是可以用to +N/ V ,所以C真正錯在於and兩者之間的形式不平衡(ie.一個是to V,一個是名詞)

Hence, the preparation is none of above. I think that is point!
