這題找不到答案! (A) these = ? 什麼用法?

我做這一題的方式是
1.先用比較要同類刪去B與C，因為B與C將effect與morphine比
2.再用改變句意刪除CD，因為原來句意是在說hot sauce如同exercise有相似的功用，而不是說兩者都可以刺激大腦
3.在A與E中選擇時，A為just as exercise does，而E為just as with exercise;因此A可以比較兩者作用相似，會覺得A比E好
而對於these的解讀是優先替代原主詞hot sauces

they 會指代不清, these 不會嗎?

我之前對these的認知錯誤
應該是代endorphins
也就呼應了dibert認為會產生指代不清的問題
所以再翻了文法書
希望可以找到為何可以如此指代的原因

由於these是指示代名詞，為this的複數型，在句意上通常指代時間或空間距離作者較近的事物，將these看成指示形容詞時，可以比較清楚表達的含意
hot sauces stimulate the release of endorphins in the brain, just as exercise does, and these(drugs) have a pain-relieving effect like morphine's


由於後文出現morphin，因此these就只會指代endorphins，因為與morphin相比較時，只有endorphin與morphin相同，也是藥物，也會產生pain-relieving effect


不知道是否是真正的含意，不過我一開始是覺得these這種指示代名詞和they是不一樣的，但不確定差異在哪裡，還請牛人指導

為什麼 these 可以準確地指代到 endorphins 呢?
難道後面那個 endorphins 跟腦子釋放的 endorphins 不一樣嗎?

做SC基本原則
1. 平衡皇帝大(只要不平衡, 一切免談)

3. 一般it/they/these/he/she/those, 都算是精確指代, 很精準的指代前面的事物.

1.看到besides adding complementary,先找後面主詞,
刪(C) exercise不合邏輯,不能加味
刪(D)(E)邏輯不合

2.剩(A)與(B)
看到like,刪（B）因為pain-relieving effect 不能跟morphine相提並論 ,只剩(A),(A)的morphine's pain-relieving effect可以跟hot sauces' pain-relieving effect相提並論

3.再看到中間插入句,一個是as,一個是like+N,Like+N,在句中容易有歧意

就選了(A)
