否則必須用現在分詞

我的看法就跟您們不太一樣，我覺得是
In...., a riff(S.) is(v.) a simple melodic figure(A), B, and repeated several times(C.)而A是由a simple melodic figure(ADJ.+n.)所以B、C也是如此，所以選D(adj.+n.)

不能認同,. 如果是三者一致性, 三個的結構必須完全相同, 但是你會發現and 後面的有動辭repeated, 這樣子怎麼算平衡呢?

原句我認為是In jazz music, a riff is a simple melodic figure which usually lasts one or two measures and be repeated several times. 但是這樣的句子不好, 容易讓讀者搞不清楚and平衡誰, 而可能平衡到is, 故去which, last主動改lasting, be repeated被動改being repeated然後being可以刪掉, 此時句意較清楚. 因為你會比較容易發現逗號後面完全修飾figure.

大家可以試著翻譯句意應該會清楚些.

我覺得repeated不是動詞，應該是分詞之類的，然後可能省略which is 再者，若是動物也應該是現在式!!
