In many nations, criminal law does not apply to corporations, but in the United Stated today, a corporation
commits a crime whenever one of its employees commits a crime, if the employee acted
within the scope of
his or her authority and if the corporation benefited as a result.

A. a corporation commits a crime whenever one of its employees commits a crime, if the employee acted
B. a corporation is committing a crime whenever one of its employees committed a crime, if those employees were acting
C. corporations commit a crime whenever one of its employees does, on the condition that the employee acts
D. corporations commit crimes whenever an employee of those corporations commit a crime, if it was while acting
E. the corporation whose employees commit a crime, commits a crime, whenever the employee acted

答案A,這題我的做法是看前面是corporations,然後a,b去掉,
cd選一個我選c,請問c錯在哪邊?

我發現我錯在哪了,可以自問自答嗎 ;-$
順便問一下這句的意思
if the employee acted within the scope of
his or her authority and if the corporation benefited as a result.

我不確定我翻得對不對...
大概是說若是職員在他們的職權範圍所犯得罪且最後結果是公司得利的話...
那麼刑法就適用於處罰公司...

btw..
criminal law是刑法吧!?

1.觀察五答案
2.差異(1)a corporation與corporations與the corporation (2)a crime與crimes (3),if the employee acted與if those employeees were acting與on the condition that the employee acts與 whenever the employee acted
3.回原題題意...喔出現 AND if the corporation....BENEFITED 考平衡
4.刪 B C D E
5.強迫中獎 A
快速作答 提升對率 繼續下一題

一個問題
兩個if子句帶的動作為何用過去式acted, benefited?
即 a corporation
commits a crime......., if the employee acted.....and if the corporation benefited.....

推一下樓上的文章...我也想問一樣的問題
如果If後面用過去式表示與現在事實相反
那主要子句就應該要加上would或should之後的助動詞吧?
雖然A看起來就是最好的答案了...
誰能解釋一下呢?!

有if 的不一定就是假設法哦!
可以參見og-46
46. A study commissioned by the Department of Agriculture showed that if calves exercise and associated with other calves, they will require less medication and gain weight quicker than do those raised in confinement.
(A)associated with other calves, they will require less medication and gain weight quicker than do
(B)associated with other calves, they require less medication and gain weight quicker than
(C)associate with other calves, they required less medication and will gain weight quicker than do
(D)associate with other calves, they have required less medication and will gain weight more quickly than do
(E)associate with other calves, they require less medication and gain weight more quickly than

Choice E, the best answer, uses the adverbial phrase more quickly than to modify the verb phrase gain weight. In A, B, and C, quicker than is incorrect because an adjective should not be used to modify a verb phrase. E is also the only choice with consistent verb tenses. The first verb in the clauses introduced by showed that is exercise. A and B incorrectly compound that present tense verb with a past tense verb, associated. C and D correctly use associate, but C follows with the past tense required and D with the present perfect have required. Both C and D incorrectly conclude with the future tense will gain.

而這題也是,因為它是陳述一件事實,
至於時態,我的看法是
a corporation commits a crime whenever one of its employees commts a crime,
前面這兩個動作是一件事(有關criminal law)
if the the employee acted within .... and if the corporation benefited.....

B) one of it employees...if those employees were.... his or her
後2組皆表第1個one of employees 所以第2 those employees要改單數
C) corporations ....its employees.....the corporation
its及 the corporation 皆表 第1個corporation, 所以第2 corporation要改單數
D) corporations ......those corporations.........the corporation
以第3個為主, 因為不在劃線中....所以前2組必須改 單數
再者 if it was while acting... it 不等於 an employee , 錯
E) whose employees.....the employee....he or she...
同理...第1組應改為單數......
