分詞代替連接詞與省略關代之分辨

我今天做CR時,遇到一個問題,是有關SC中"分詞代替連接詞與省略關代之分辨"

題目是
GWD4-38
Q38:Two centuries ago, Tufe Peninsula became separated form the mainland, isolating on the newly formed Tufe Island a population of Turfil sunflowers. 問題是上面紅色字體那個sentence,之後isolating我應該怎麼判讀呢?
是(1)and isolate on the newly formed ...
or(2)which isolate on the newly formed...

難道是根據句意判讀?還是有規則可循??

請高手解惑!!!

我的理解是"非限定用法的形容詞子句 ,其關係代名詞最好不要省略,否則會造成修飾語誤置 ",那這邊為何可以用isolating呢???

我要問就是,OG也說了,establishing會修飾到Athen,修飾語誤置;那把那題的邏輯套過來, isolating似乎不合適,我感覺應該用 and isolated
但是恐怖的事情又發生了!!!

我想這一切還是要看句意(其實我看到Pufa兄的簡單表達，我就覺得他懂了，但沒關係，這一類型本來就是困難)

先補充一下，259也好，120也好，我們去年都有經歷豐富的討論，你可以看看

回到主題，你最早由CR 提出的觀念，基本上和259是一致的，用中文的態度的理解，就是一件事如何如何，導致了另一件事。以你的CR為例，就是講"這半島與大陸分離，讓島上的花isolated 。再以259為例，五支幼鳥飛出去，導致三十四支回來，也就是表示出"因果關係"的用法，可用S+V+O, Ving表達。

這一點你可以參考OG49，OG154，恐怕會讓你更了解，而且OG 上寫的更是精闢，有一關鍵就是，這種分詞構句，就是要有相同主詞

其次，OG120不能與這一概而論，你用establishing ，就得套回原句，找原句主詞是否是establish 的主詞，很明顯，雅典也好，神廟也好，豈能成為蓋清真寺的主詞，想必這establish 是修飾人的，再考慮動詞先後關係，那就是選C 啦。選E 就是句意不對嘛。

這裡就要講最重要的一部分了，你去看看OG49、或OG259 ，我還記得莫老師都說這是分詞代替連接詞，但你去看看OG 的解說，這豈是莫老師的"理論"可以概括的，莫老師的理論可以給超級高手用，但前提是你真有看破OG 的解釋，尤其是49, 120, 154, 178, 259這幾題

忘了分詞代替連接詞這句話，還是回歸OG的解說吧

還有遇到這種題型 v1....n,v2ing 快速判斷方式

要先了解句意,然後判斷v2的S是誰,除非前後主詞相同(有可能是伴隨發生or分詞代替連結詞)

且最重要的句意要通,否則必錯!!!

這是我的結論,有錯請指正!!! ^^

算是高難度的題型
這種題目若有體會，我相信一定很爽的

但你說的原則有一點要注意，就是前面主詞不見得要和ving的主詞要一致
你以og 49 題為例

49. The cameras of the Voyager II spacecraft detected six small, previously unseen moons circling Uranus, which doubles to twelve the number of satellites now known as orbiting the distant planet.
(A) which doubles to twelve the number of satellites now known as orbiting

你說是相機，太空船，還是土星，道底誰是主詞，很難講吧，與其去找主詞，不如是講成是"前面的概念讓後面的double "，你再讀讀吧。

主詞不見得是關鍵(49)，但你講的另一半是對的，但修飾錯誤的主詞，那就非錯不可了(120)。
