A意思改變 是科學家解開secret 而不是Studying the fruit fly促使secret被解開,而且被動wordy-->如果主動可以清楚表達,沒必要改被動

而不是科學家

我想D錯的原因如下
1)就像你說的, 被動
2)不能用and also, 因為前後語氣有轉折, 所以要改用but
3)by studying the fruit fly的主詞為the secrets of how embryos develop, 也是句意怪異
4)a household nuisance and also a time-honored experimental subject突然出現夾
在中間, 說他是同位語, 前後也找不到可以讓他同位的對象~
5)沒必要的將begin改成are beginning

但是我對E選項也是有問題說, 照語意來說a household nuisance but a time-honored experimental subject應該是the fruit fly的同位語, 但是E中的the fruit fly前面有個the study of, 這樣感覺a household nuisance but a time-honored experimental subject變成the study of the fruit fly的同位語, 這樣就很想把這個答案刪掉說, @ @ 請大大指示～～～

我查了一下同位語的筆記，我覺得應該是這樣，
A,B,D,E都是同位語通通都是指 "fly"
這全部都是which is a household nuisance but also a time-honored experimental subject...的which is省略後的結果。
因為可以理解，所以可以省略。
因為同位語基本上就非限定形容詞子句的省略結果。
雖然我第一次看也是覺得怪怪的，也許是我讀的英文還不夠多，
如果多讀些英文應該就見怪不怪了。
